Seriously bad performance that. Tactics were all wrong. Time for King to go. Can always guarantee a failure in the playoffs with him in charge.

I'm sure there is someone out there who can do better. So short-sighted to think King is the only option.

Well that was nothing less than a disaster. So many things to unpack tonight and not many positives unfortunately. I'll try and do it chronologically and sensibly without getting too emotional although I feel extremely let down tonight

First half was very poor and that set the tone for the match. No off the ball movement, long balls being lumped up which just rolled to their keeper or for a goal kick, and when they didn't their defenders won everything and also got the second ball, a common theme this season.

Second half was slightly better with us creating a few chances and actually tested their keeper on a couple of ocassions but overall we never really created more than a couple of proper chances. But truthfully we should've lost that in the 90 after their player missed an open net.

Extra time was cagey, when we did get in the final third wrong decision making let us down.

Penalties were dreadful, really feel for Reice as when you make 2 saves as a keeper you really should be on the winning team. Their keeper was about 5 yards off the line and the linesman chose to ignore that but we can't pinpoint that as the reason why we lost.

One thing I want to also add, we have played some of our best football on 4G pitches this season where the ball is allowed to move smoothly and predictably, yet we insist every week on turning those bloody sprinklers on for 5-10 minutes before the match, which completely soddens areas of the pitch and then we have players slipping and the ball moving in strange ways, I really really don't know why we do it.

Player wise, we was far too slow with our changes tonight I'm sorry to say, Jebb was injured and playing on one leg since 60 minutes and I cannot believe management didn't notice this, and if they did then it was criminal to leave him on because it felt like we was playing with 10 men.

Hard to pick a motm tonight, I thought Meade had a decent game but I'm going to give my vote to Reice. Made a couple of big saves to keep it 0-0 and did his job in the shootout.

A very disappointing end to the season, however can't say I'm too shocked if I'm completely honest.

Also, convinced there was more than 1300 there. Looked closer to 1800 to me

Sickener but King to stay for me. Only positive I can take is that Steve can now look at the retained list and potential new signings.

Wasn’t short sighted enough when he got us into the play offs when we heading downwards under flan & Coyle though.

Give it a rest, his first full season in charge. Yes it's disappointing but we don't want to be chopping and changing managers every season if we don't go up.

I’m afraid I agree. Start again. New approach. Too much f’kin about with the side. Season report: Good effort Mr King. 8/10. But not the way forward I’m afraid.

I’ve come away from PP too many times this season feeling angry! And tonight another sub-standard home performance.

We need a fresh change. Dunno who - but SK is not the answer. I’ll say it again, a goalkeeper (no matter how blindingly awesome Wilksy has been) should never be your player of the season if you’re a title challenger. That speaks volumes for us this season.

Well done Chippenham. Deserved everything. Knew exactly how to deal with us. As they have done twice already this season! I can see them going up! Good luck to them!

Lads gave everything but they defended really well. Surprised there are calls for Kingy to go but it's all about different opinions I guess. Hope we can keep majority of this squad as we are not far away. Good luck to Chippenham at Ebbsfleet. COYD

I’m a big fan of king but he’s got to come out and talk about the season and what he can do differently next season to avoid some really awful performances that have cost us. Trust me I am his biggest fan even still but he has got to take a huge amount of responsibility for some real poor performances that have got us to this stage as well as taking all the plaudits when we were on fire at the start of the season.
