DARTFORD FC GIRLS ACADEMY 13th win out of 13
Re: DARTFORD FC GIRLS ACADEMY 13th win out of 13
Dartford FC Girls Academy delivered another strong team performance to secure an impressive 5–2 victory over AFC Dunstable last week.
The hard work and standards set in training were clearly reflected throughout the match.
From the first whistle, Dartford played with confidence and authority, showing the belief of a team sitting top of the league. Building patiently from the back, the players remained calm and composed in possession, controlling the tempo and creating consistent attacking opportunities.
The opening goal came through excellent link-up play, as Olivia Ajose set up Isabella Taffs, who shifted onto her left foot and finished confidently. Ajose then added her own name to the scoresheet.
Although Dunstable pulled a goal back from a well-delivered set piece just before half-time, Dartford had dominated the first half in both possession and chances created.
The half-time message was clear: maintain control of the ball but attack with aggression and move it quicker in the final third.
Dartford started the second half with real intensity and responded strongly following the opposition’s goal. Taffs, who continues to have an outstanding season, shifted the ball across to Isabelle Edgar, who calmly added to her tally and extended Dartford’s lead. With Dunstable sitting deep in their own half, Dartford maintained full control, allowing Ajose to grab her second goal of the afternoon.
Dunstable managed another response through their number 11, who impressed throughout the game, but Dartford’s quality ultimately proved too strong. Ellie Ford then rounded off the scoring with a superb strike from outside the box, finishing neatly into the far corner.
Manager George Kingdon said: “It was a great performance overall from the team. Thirteen wins from thirteen games shows the standards this group have set. We are building a strong reputation, recruitment for the new intake has doubled, and a huge part of that is down to the success of the girls. They are writing their own history, after today’s win they have cemented first or second place finish and hopefully in three games’ time we can lift the league title together.”
