That's an extremely interesting development. As Taunton have Tuesday and Thursday matches in the next two weeks there is no other window in which to play Maidstone.

However, Taunton claim they don't want it at Gloucester and are annoyed with the League BUT when we played Truro at Gloucester we were told by Gloucester officials that Taunton WOULD be playing their home games there. Methinks Taunton are trying to pull the wool over their supporters eyes on this one.

Surely ground grading requirements should include the sodding playing surface and the likelihood of it completing a season? If you build on a clay pit, what do you expect?

That's correct mate, it was no secret that night that Taunton would be playing some, or all of their games at Gloucester????

Was that meant as a sodding playing surface or a sodden one..🤨. Whatever, I agree with you in both views.

Well, you can't say that Scum are not trying to help us out.
They wallop Eastbourne and we then lose to them.
They then go and beat Taunton.
Okay, I get they want to finish as high up the table as they can.
But then, so do we. Don't we?

I was going by a feed on Maidstone twitter that showed the score at 94 minutes as 0-0.

Taunton must be even deeper in financial crisis as the crowd yesterday was 126 - not many bothered to go the 77 miles to support their team, mind you it was very short notice

Good result for them, another nail in our coffin though as another team pulls away from the bottom.

Looks like we will be lucky if we can grab the last relegation spot, and be hoping for a reprieve of some sort.

I am reliably informed that it cost Taunton £1,600 to play their 'home' game at Gloucester City - with only 126 spectators they made a significant loss on the night

Maybe they should have spent £1600 on their drainage last pre season??

They are not the only club in the South West with severe fixture backlogs, we have had continuous heavy rain for four months down here. The reservoirs, at the end of last summer, were estimated to need three years' worth of rainfall to re-fill. We have had so much rain that the reservoirs are now overflowing!!

Poole Town are playing a home game today at Dorchester and have pulled out of the semi-finals of the County Cup to get their games in.
Truro are playing at Gloucester, as we all know.
Plymouth Parkway are playing at Yate Town

Those are just the problems I am aware of. Taunton had a fixture backlog last year due to progressing in the FA Cup and FA Trophy. They have never had such a season for postponements as they are experiencing now, however, part of that is down to the subsoil, the previous way in which the ground was maintained and no end-of-season renovations since Covid hit. All the fields are still completely sodden and the farmers are tearing their hair out as they can't do anything with their land. This is not just an isolated problem with one football ground.

having said all that the people running Taunton are their own worst enemies as they are regularly putting out official statements that say absolutely nothing. If they had warned supporters that there was the need for matches to be moved from Wordsworth Drive to Gloucester in the event of the pitch being unplayable then they would have had a far bigger turnout of supporters this week. They could even have put coaches on to get the supporters to Gloucester. However with the communications from DFC who are we to judge another club on their lack of information?
