The league have now formally acknowledged that the postponed match away to Sport London Benfica has been recognised as an away walkover. This gives the Darts the equivalent of a 3-0 victory. That RESULT moves the Darts to the top of the league by one clear point with just one match remaining. I believe that it also confirms promotion for the Darts as, at the minimum, one of the best two second place teams. Victory away to Saltdean on Sunday will confirm Dartford as champions. If the match is drawn, Saltdean will need a draw away to Dorking the following week to win the league on goal difference.
Combined with a county cup victory and a great run in the FA Cup, this has been a tremendous season for the Dartford women. Congratulations to everybody involved, both on the pitch and behind the scenes.
