Re: FA CUP 2nd ROUND v KEYNSHAM TOWN (Tier 4)
Hoping that our DFC Men get the 3 points today!
Followed by our DFC Women to hopefully win their FA Cup 2nd Round Tie v Keynsham Town L.F.C, KO 1.00 pm tomorrow, at Princes Park.
(NOT 3.00 pm KO, as read in the newsletter!)
As seen on the BBC News, it'd be massive for our club.
An FA Cup 3rd Round beckons, with further spoils, deservedly more so for our women's squad, staff and fast growing number of loyal supporters...
First thing first... 3 points later on, please guys!

Re: FA CUP 2nd ROUND v KEYNSHAM TOWN (Tier 4)
For those that did not make the trip to Princes Park at lunch time today, you missed a corker.
Keynsham Town are a level higher than Dartford in the league structure and they were strong in the challenge, quick up front and confident in their own ability. However, in Dartford, they met their match.
The opening ten minutes saw both sides create opportunities and neither side dominated but gradually Keynsham began to take an element of control in the middle and they began to enjoy a higher share of possession. During this spell Dartford conceded a free kick just inside their own half which was hit with force and intent and came back off the Dartford crossbar and fortunatley to safety. Keynsham also fashioned a great opening in the Dartford box but the shot was tame and comfortably saved.
Dartford raised their game and began to wrestle back control of the middle of the park. Dartford now had the upper hand and it was Keynsham commiting the foul just inside their own half. The free kick was pumped into the danger zone. The keeper came for the ball but failed to take a clean catch and it fell kindly to the Dartford centre forward who made no mistake from ten yards. Dartford kept pushing and another foul just outside of the penalty box gave Dartford another scoring chance. The wall made the error of jumping without a draught blocker and Dartford were now two up. During this spell of possession, the Dartford centre forward raced on to a great through ball and was impeded by the keeper outside of the box. The referee waived yellow, not red, on the basis that the stricker was running wide and there were covering defenders. Probably the right call. The resultant free kick did not curl quite enough to embarass the keeper further.
Dartford started the second half strongly and began to create a number of chances to book their place in the next round. They hit the crossbar, they hit the post, the keeper made a great save from a one-on-one and we missed another one-on-one by inches. Substitutions broke up the flow of the game and just as you felt that Dartford had closed the game out, Keynsham were awarded a free kick just inside the Dartford half. We had been warned by a great effort in the first half and this time the ball came off the bottom of the Dartford crossbar and into the net.
It could have triggered a late panic, but the team showed their determination to ensure that Keynsham had no chance to snatch a late equaliser. The final whistle was met with a loud cheer from the record crowd that had come along to watch, including a number of away fans.
Keynsham can travel back to Bristol with their heads held high. They played well and will be disappointed that their composure in front of goal possibly let them down in the first half. They will probably play worse than this during the remainder of the season at their higher level and win. They were unlucky to be drawn away to a Dartford team that should clearly be playing at a higher level on a weekly basis.
What next? Some dream of a long journey, Newcastle perhaps. Others would rather have a home tie where Dartford have proved to be such a strong side this season. Hopefully the players will not be disappointed with the draw. They deserved their victory today and it would be a great reward if they had the chance to go head-to-head with some of the top performers in the country.
Great game ladies. I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday lunch time match today.
