It is with regret that i have to let you all know that after not being in the best of health recently John sadly passed away today at the age of 76.
I remember my early days supporting the Darts with fond memories as John and his best mate Roger Giles were two great characters who always brought a smile to my face.
John also had a long successful stint as manager of the Supporters Football Team which all us "Grassbankers" were involved with, he will be sadly missed.
Condolences to his son Darren and family.
RIP mate, gone but never forgotten.

So sad to hear of Johns passing as I go back a long way and can remember attending those early matches at Watling Street along with him and Roger and it is so sad to hear of us losing another long serving Darts fan.

Such sad news John was a real character, always had a chat with him sitting round the table in the bar at PP and on the terraces. A really nice bloke.
Yet another good guy who has past on to the DFC Fan Club in the sky.
My condolences to Darren (Tank) & the family, RIP John.

Very sad to hear this news at the match on Saturday.
I have fond memories of my early years with the club with John driving the vocals behind the goal at Watling Street. His judgement of the moment was impeccable, he always chose the right chant at the right moment. Another sad loss.
My condolences to John's family.

Really sad news. Not seen John for a few years now at Princes Park but will always remember him as a real character from my early days supporting the Darts at Watling Street. As Grassbank says he was always one of the first to start the chanting in support of the boys in black and white. John also managed the Dartford FC Supporters team in the early 80s when we competed in the North Kent Sunday League annd even featured on the front cover of one issue of Light at the end of the tunnel. Not only that but I remember when me and Mrs H bought our first property and John kindly helped us shift a massive wall unit in his works van to our house in Sutton at Hone.
Rest in peace, John.
Not sure I’m enjoying this getting old malarkey with so many of the people I grew up with from Watling Street onwards now passing on in ever increasing numbers.

I have only just seen this post, having just read of the passing of Sonytino on the main forum, and seen Gary's comment to Rick to eventually post it onto this page.
Belated condolences to his family.
