I really don't know what to expect on Saturday. A month or so back I thought we had the best squad of players I'd ever seen and that that we'd be steaming ahead all season. Some of the football we were playing was breathtakingly good and I made us big favourites to win the league. Then came the shock defeat at Sudbury and suddenly everything changed. Now I know we've only lost 1 in the last 8 or whatever, but even the most optimistic amongst us must admit that it hasn't been pretty and we have definitely lost that early season sparkle. I don't really understand why this has happened, because on paper this is still a fantastic squad and must surely come good again at some point.
The FA Trophy is a great opportunity for players of this level to play at Wembley. Those of us who are old enough will remember the thrill of seeing the Darts at Wembley in 1974. We lost to Morecambe 1-2 that day, but it is still one of the greatest memories I have of supporting the Darts. We've made the semi-final 4 times since then, only to fall at that hurdle. The Trophy doesn't seem to get the same respect it did in the past but I for one would love to go back to Wembley and win. I know promotion is the main target, but for pure unadulterated joy, the pleasure from winning a game like that would be hard to beat. It's not inconceivable, our team are more than capable ... we just need to get our mojo back.

Cray Wanderers - F.A Trophy preview
More Kent derbies on the way and this time it's the trophy. Hopefully the Darts can piece together a good run, here's the preview for our tie with Cray https://puredfc.co.uk/

Agree 100%. After the early showing, I thought the Trophy was well within our reach this season. With a tiny bit of luck of the draw. Not so sure now though.Spike wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 4:43 pm I really don't know what to expect on Saturday. We need our mojo back as said. I'm hoping to get past Cray Wanderers first time of asking. If we don't something then there is something definately wrong in the side. Maidstone didn't beat us, we helped them in their beating of us by not turning up.
Don't want to do them down, but that was our worst performance of the season.

Agree with spikes post but the 1 loss in 8 games comment also being mentioned by kingy is really used to make things better than they really are, the league is the bread & butter and we have lost 3 of the last 8 league games with only 9pts from 24.

Will be going tomorrow with hope of an much improved performance against a side who will no doubt raise their game against us. We need more stability at the back and with more mobility in midfield, my team selection would be -
Wilks, Wynter, Bonner, Vint, Meade, Husin, Hyde, Jebb, Leonard, Robinson(if fit), Porter
