Isthmian Premier League News

Post by Disco Stu »

Might as well get ready for next season  It won’t be long before we know who is lining up in the Isthmian Premier in August.

It’s the last day of the Isthmian Premier League season on the weekend and only one playoff place and one relegation place to be confirmed. Although the relegation spot looks done and dusted really.

Champions – Hornchurch
Playoff place guaranteed – Chatham Town, Enfield Town
Playoff place TBC (two places up for grabs) – Wingate and Finchley, Horsham or Billericay

Wingate and Finchley and Horsham need just a point to qualify
Billericay need to win and hope either Wingate and Finchley or Horsham lose
Should Billericay win and both Wingate and Finchley and Horsham lose then it will be down to goal difference between W&F (+13 / 75 goals scored) and Horsham (+12 / 62 goals scored).

At the bottom Margate need to win and Cheshunt to lose with a 14 goal swing!

Haringey Borough, Concord Rangers and Kingstonian already down

Billericay Town (6th) v Margate (19th)
Hashtag United (13th) v Cheshunt (18th)
Horsham (5th) v Concord Rangers (21st)
Wingate and Finchley (4th) v Carshalton Athletic (9th)

Isthmian League South East title is yet to be decided and the champions will be promoted to the premier

Cray Valley Paper Mills need a point,
Ramsgate need to win and hope Cray Valley lose with a goal swing of 3

Horndean (12th) v Cray Valley PM (1st)
Ramsgate (2nd) v Three Bridges (4th)

Whoever finishes second out of Cray Valley and Ramsgate will join Sittingbourne, Three Bridges and Chichester City in the playoffs

Isthmian North is settled with a game to go..
Champions – Lowestoft Town
Playoffs – Bowers and Pitsea, Bury Town, Felixstowe and Walton United, Brentwood Town

I’ll be at Felixstowe on Saturday for the visit of New Salamis with the Seasiders needing a win and hoping both Bowers & Pitsea and Bury lose to clinch runners up spot. If Bowers or Brentwood win the play offs they will be promoted to the Isthmian Premier. If Bury or Felixstowe succeed then they will almost certainly move to the Southern Premier Central and Bishop’s Stortford switched to the Isthmian Premier.

Four ex Dartford players in the top ten. We could have done with a few of their goals last season!.

The Isthmian South Central division is also settled with one game to go..
Champions – Chertsey Town
Playoffs – Marlow, Leatherhead, Southall, Westfield.

It's possible that some or all of the teams promoted from this division will be placed in the Southern Premier South division.

It will be the last ever match for New Salamis on Saturday. They are withdrawing from men's football at the end of season but still maintaining their youth set up.

There is a possibility that Lowestoft will be placed in the Southern Premier Central division which is a shame as it would have made a good day/weekend trip.

All the Suffolk clubs are promoted to the Southern Premier Central so a trip to Lowestoft will have to be reserved for an FA competition.

I see Chatham had just over 3000 for their play off semi final, allowed drink on the terraces and only charged £5 entry.

It’s not a surprise they get 3000+ at £5 admission, just think of all that extra money coming in on food, drink, programmes & club shop.

Agree on the extra money on food, drink etc IF the receipts go the club and not to an ‘outsourced’ company. The reduced admission IMO is a bit of a gamble. 3000 at £5 admission is £15k, which is the same as 1000 people at £15.

Great positive move by Chatham , IF a % of the extra 2000 {?} who turned up enjoyed the game [ I listened to it on live and I did !!] they will become Chatham fans and turn up and pay normal gate prices plus add ons , Clubs who have no initiatives stand still, stagnate and often get relegated !!!!!!!

What a sad state to see a club within spitting distance of league football end up here
Sad times for the town and all Dartford fans…..

That's what makes football so exhilarating - the ups and downs and the hope that ambitions are fulfilled!

It must be so boring sorting Man City these days - not if they will win a trophy this season but how many.....
