News from around the National League South
Maidstone United have won 3-2 at Stonebridge Road tonight against Ebbsfleet United. The result stopped Ebbsfleet from replacing the Darts at the top of the league. It also moved Maidstone level in the table with Ebbsfleet.
Dulwich Hamlet also beat Welling Utd 3-1 in the London Senior Cup tonight in front of a crowd of 719!!.

Looks like the fleet bottled it again!

A red card for fleet and the winning goal was scored by a player called Fleet.

Those teams with games in hand are not taking advantage of the situation. Of all the teams with games in hand only Ebbsfleet can currently go above us if they win their remaining game in hand by at least 3 goals. Ebbsfleet had 3 games in hand and have only picked up 1 point in the first two games. Their last game in hand is against Bath next week.
Of the other teams with games in hand H&W are playing Dulwich Hamlet tomorrow and then Ebbsfleet are away to Dulwich on Saturday.
We just need to keep our noses in front.

It’s turning into a very tight league. The Xmas and New Year fixtures are gonna be interesting!
Re: News from around the National League South
As has been said before, points in the bag are of more value than games in hand.
The doom mongers on here had us in 5th or 6th place by now, but look at who is still on the top of the pile. #dartlionoutofretirementjustforthisonemessage

Re: News from around the National League South
I don’t think anyone had us “5th or 6th.” If the results had gone against us, the lowest we could have ‘reached’ was third and six point behind Ebbsfleet at this point. (They still have another attempt to displace us, but only on goal difference.) But it has proven that points on the board are worth more than games in hand. What we don’t want to do is allow the opportunity to happen again though. Let’s hope we’ve had our only blip and others are yet to. It’s bum-squeakingly tight though.

My apologies Sleightly, just having a quick track back, (yes I agree I need to get out more
) and I think this comment in an earlier thread registered in my mind as a potential for us finishing 5th or 6th? "But it’s gonna be tight with the likes of £bbsfl££t, Oxford City, St Albans and Dorking up our arses".
