Basically, at the moment, the Taunton pitch is liquid mud with some grass struggling through. It is really sad to see a ground in such waterlogged condition

At last, some better news from Taunton (hate to see any club struggling for their future life). HMRC paid and winding up petition withdrawn, as a result their transfer embargo has been lifted. Hopefully that is the last of their good news until after Saturday's game at PP. I'd love to see both clubs in NLS next season

Re: News from around the National League South
So sad to see any club in trouble but, in this case, what a fall from grace. A long standing Football League club, now in the 6th tier playing alongside the Mighty Darts - and now in serious financial trouble. Whispers in the south west suggest that administration might only be the starting point in this sorry saga and that they might be going out of business completely. So, some goodish news yesterday about Taunton having the winding up petition removed and then this hammer blow for Torquay.
My heart goes out to Austen Booth. He impressed me when playing against us for Taunton earlier this season. When Taunton's financial troubles bit he was one of 7 players to leave Taunton to reduce their wage bill. He then signed for his home town club - Torquay United........

Torquay forum:-

One comment I picked up on:-
"My understanding is that any club entering administration before the fourth Thursday in March would have an immediate points deduction"
Does anyone know if that's correct??

Local press in the South West is suggesting that Torquay will get a 10 point deduction immediately which will put them a point below us

Never like to see a club go through this, it does make you appreciate our board and how we are run a little bit more especially in a tough season like this.

So Torquay are now well and truly in the relegation mic and their current firm suggests they are in free fall

Re: News from around the National League South
No surprise here - Truro City v Hemel postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Taunton.
However, to be fair and even handed, Weston-super-Mare's match tomorrow is also already postponed - we have had a hell of a lot of rain, yet again, this week in the West Country. Taunton are probably making their way to Princes Park by boat or hovercraft
