Re: John Ripley - RIP
Very sad news indeed.
I was lucky enough to know "Rip" very well, and l couldn't believe my luck when he agreed to manage the Sunday League team I ran... the mighty Southfleet Rams. :) 0 The most successful five years for the club were under his management.
A lovely guy and still a cracking ...

A guaranteed 6 points for us next season. Now back to your homely little bus stop fc forum. Tatty bye.
I dangled the bait and you gobbled it up. Good god. All you can shout about is the state of PVR. Don’t you realise that Welling United fans KNOW it’s a shit hole. Slagging PVR is a ...

M 1 South says
How the mighty have fallen!!
It might be a drop down the leagues but I would have him back at any time
Around 100 goals a season from the team when he was with us and he missed few penalties if any, well rehearsed free kicks and corners meant we never knew what was going to happen ...

Re: DFC playoffs since NLP
My favourite format is a 2 legged semi and a final at the highest placed team as was the case in 2012 when we beat Basingstoke 3-1 on agg (1-0 A and 2-1 H) and then Welling in the final. Would be interesting if the stats support the highest placed team achieving promotion more often than not?

Re: Play off Final - Dartford v Dover Athletic Mon 5 May 2025
Matt, I think the original capacity was set at 4063. Since then we now allow people to stand on the walkway barrier around the terracing. That probably adds 500 minimum to capacity so the club could give access to those season ticket holders without a ticket, if it so desired, without impacting ...

Re: Play off Final - Dartford v Dover Athletic Mon 5 May 2025
I suggest the club contact ALL season ticket holders pronto; by phone, by email and ask them if they have their match ticket. If not, take their name and arrange access via the reception entrance on match day. Can’t be more than 50-100 season ticket holders that potentially missed out. Stuff the ...

Re: Dartford v Dover Athletic Fri 18 Apr 2025
Coming up for this one and looking forward to seeing a good, old Kent derby. During TBs reign we often got the better of our east Kent neighbours and I’m hoping for much the same this time. Although my DFC record isn’t great this season having only made Potters Bar (0-1) and Chichester (0-0) so ...

Re: Dartford v Chichester City - Tue 11 Feb 2025
Looking forward to coming up for this massive fixture and hopefully see the Darts secure a record 11 successive win. No doubt many of the old faces will be in attendance too so an opportunity to renew some acquaintances although in a more buoyant atmosphere than last season!
If that should ...

Re: Ray Cherry - Sonytino - RIP
I think Ray provided some of the earliest match highlights for supporters to enjoy. A very unassuming, quietly spoken and decent fella. Another one joins the terraces up above.
RIP Sonytino.
RIP Sonytino.

Re: Dartford v Billericay Town Sat 25 Jan 2025
Agreed Kentc, but let's not forget that the team that started Saturday were pretty well what Pennock put out at the start of the season. Some on here said they weren't good enough.
But fair play to him that he stuck with them all, yes he bought players in and quickly cleared them out again ...

I’ll check on Nobes tonight at the Brentwood v Bury Town IL North clash. Noticed he’s been picking up his usual number of MotM awards. Oh, and the odd booking, too.

I unfortunately couldn’t attend the meeting in person or online due to other committments ...

It comes to us all, M1. Starts with the hearing and works it way down. If you’re really unlucky everything goes kaput from the ground up.M1 South wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:32 pm Was it Mic’d up??
